Devlog ahead of img-28 submission


Well it has been 2 months since the first IMG jam I entered into! I will try moving forward for the remaining 4 months of my gamedev on this game to write one monthly. 

Features included in this update ahead of the IMG28

  • Updated UI graphics again, icons updated and card graphics updated. Working with a graphic designer for the final form of the UI so I have not put any further animations in yet.
  • Basic hologram shader on new reporter graphic and background moving pixels shader on the map (new unity asset)
  • Updated Shop UI and implemented the Shop functionality:
    • You can buy packs of cards in the shop
    • This is shown in an open-pack UI screen
  • Objectives halfway done - 2 objective types are implemented and a hardcoded queue of objectives is working
  • Created a few more cards and made a few more game design steps in progress

Features that I worked on but are not yet included in build

  • Interactive tutorial - this is buggy and needs to be updated with more mechanics and events to explain

Features that I hope to finish by the next month's devlog:

  • Finish the Objectives implementation so there are randomised filler secondary objectives 
  • Create more cards, more objectives and more council options 
  • a WIP steam page for the game
